Terraria 1.4.5.8 patch notes
Released · update · summarized from Re-Logic's changelog
Version 1.4.5.8 is a small update with two item tweaks and a long list of bug fixes. It also lists the UI changes from 1.4.5.7 that were left out of that version's changelog. Players will first notice the Clay Bud knockback change and the Last Prism laser fading when mana runs short.
Item changes
- Clay Bud now always pushes enemies away from the player.
- Last Prism's laser now fades out when it is used without enough mana, showing that its use is slow.
Item and combat bug fixes
- Acorn Slingshot no longer collapses the universe when it hits.
- Prefixes no longer stack on items thrown into the world.
- Stacking Mana Regeneration Bands no longer makes the player regenerate mana at 100% speed while using weapons; the stacking of the regeneration itself is intended and still works.
- Roller Skates no longer stop wings from appearing in certain situations.
- Poison Barb no longer applies to the Guide's arrows in singleplayer.
- Slow magic usage no longer resets when the player uses Quick buff.
World and boss bug fixes
- Paint now applies to the dungeon in certain Not The Bees seed worlds.
- Dungeon Guardian no longer appears in seeds with an underground dungeon, even at the intended fighting entrance.
Other bug fixes
- The position of underwater air bubbles for the Princess is fixed.
- A certain exploit is fixed.
- A crash related to salamanders and the bestiary in multiplayer is hopefully fixed.
- The missing "UI Changes" section has been added for the 1.4.5.7 changelog.
UI changes from 1.4.5.7
- Items picked up from the ground are always highlighted when Highlight New Items is on, however they were obtained.
- A new "Forward Zoom" option in the Keybinding menu controls how the Sniper Rifle/Scope zoom works, with the settings Hold To Use, Click To Toggle, Always On, and Always Off.
- On gamepad, switching to the equipment menu while holding an item moves the cursor straight to a valid equipment slot, including for Mannequins and Hat Racks.
- Newly obtained banners are now highlighted in the Banner Menu.
- The credits scroll faster.
- Gamepad navigation of the crafting UI is improved.
- The search bar's "Clear" button can now be reached with a gamepad in the Bestiary, Journey Duplication and Crafting UIs.
