Spectral apparitions born from fallen dungeon defenders
Following the defeat of Plantera, deep brick corridors of the Dungeon become haunted ground. Whenever an enemy possessing over 100 maximum health falls in areas with valid dungeon walls, a Dungeon Spirit has a chance to materialize from the remains. Possessing 200 health and 30 defense, this floating specter drifts steadily through solid tiles toward the player, dealing 70 contact damage in Classic, 140 in Expert, and 210 in Master mode.
Harvesting ectoplasm for endgame spectral armaments
Unlike standard dungeon monsters that patrol hallways on foot, the Dungeon Spirit phases across walls in a straight path. Defeating it produces a guaranteed yield of Ectoplasm at 100% (releasing 1–2 pieces per kill). Gathering Ectoplasm is essential for combining with Chlorophyte Bars at an Autohammer to forge Spectre Bars, unlocking powerful magic armor sets alongside event summon items like the Pumpkin Moon Medallion.
Trivia
- Dungeon Spirits only materialize from enemies slain within the Dungeon biome that have more than 100 maximum health.
- Because they ignore solid tiles, trapping them in narrow tunnels is ineffective.
