Frostbitten gelatin of snowy peaks
The Ice Slime is a cold-adapted gelatin monster found bouncing across the surface Snow biome and underground ice caves. Possessing 30 life and 4 defense, it hops through snowy drifts, dealing 8 contact damage in Classic, 16 in Expert, and 24 in Master. In Expert and Master modes, its contact strikes have a chance to inflict the Chilled debuff, slowing player movement.
Early gel collection in frozen tundras
Because Ice Slimes hop with standard slime behavior, keeping a wooden broadsword raised resets their advance easily. Slaying them guarantees Gel at a 100% rate (quantity 1–2), providing fuel for early exploration torches. Attentive hunters can also find tasty Ice Cream at a 0.67% rate, and the rare Slime Staff summon at 0.01%.
Trivia
- In Expert mode, its icy touch can inflict the Chilled debuff, reducing movement velocity by half.
- It represents the cold-weather equivalent to the classic green and blue surface slimes.
