Hardmode flyers of the burning underworld
Lava Bats are enhanced fiery fliers that emerge in the Underworld once Hardmode is triggered. Flying with rapid wing beats above molten seas, they seek out explorers gathering hellstone or battling underworld foes across long bridges. Boasting 160 health and 16 defense, they can withstand substantial weapon damage before dropping.
Combating high-speed fliers and looting magma stones
Their fiery bites deal 50 damage in Classic and 100 in Expert, compounding the environmental hazards of the Underworld. Eliminating Lava Bats provides the Magma Stone at a 2% rate, infusing melee weapons with flaming debuffs, as well as the Bat Bat club at a 0.33% rate to restore life upon striking enemies.

- Lava Bats replace many standard Hellbat spawns once Hardmode is activated.
