Chances are for one kill, before Luck, Rate of fire or banners change anything. The Modes column says in which difficulties the game lists the drop.
Hovering sentinels of crash sites
Meteor Heads materialize endlessly around Meteorite crash sites, drawn to the glowing cosmic ore. Drifting continuously through solid blocks without regard for terrain, they home in on miners extracting space rock. Possessing 26 health and 6 defense, they relentlessly pursue targets in large numbers whenever space rock deposits exist.
Surviving endless swarms and farming meteorite ore
Contact with a Meteor Head inflicts 40 damage in Classic and 80 in Expert, with higher difficulties applying the On Fire! debuff. Defeating them drops raw Meteorite ore at a 2% rate, alongside the rare painting The Sea of Silence at a 1% rate, making them an infinite source of celestial metals.
Trivia
- Meteor Heads pass freely through solid walls and blocks without taking suffocation damage.
- Placing enough Meteorite blocks creates an artificial biome that causes Meteor Heads to spawn anywhere.
