Heavy subterranean oozes that split upon destruction
Mother Slimes inhabit the deep Cavern layer, distinguished from common surface slimes by their slate-grey tone and hefty frame. Possessing 90 life and 7 defense, a Mother Slime deals 20 contact damage in Classic, rising to 40 in Expert and 60 in Master. When defeated, its gel body ruptures, immediately releasing two to three aggressive Baby Slime spawns that scatter across the floor.
Navigating cavern drop-downs and compass drops
Encountering a Mother Slime on narrow cavern walkways often traps spelunkers because destroying the parent blob spawns additional agile threats in tight quarters. Eliminating the Mother Slime yields Gel at a 100% chance (1–2 units) and offers a 2% rate for the Compass navigation tool. Additionally, fortunate spelunkers can obtain the rare Slime Staff minion summon at 0.01%.
Trivia
- Baby Slimes spawned from a killed Mother Slime drop their own separate loot and count toward their own Bestiary entry.
