Teleporting pyromancers of underworld vaults
Fire Imps inhabit the ash wastes and ruined obsidian towers of the Underworld. Rather than charging directly, they teleport between isolated platforms, keeping their distance from melee weapons. With 70 health and 16 defense, they hover briefly before casting burning flame spheres that pass through solid blocks to track player movement.
Dodging flame orbs and acquiring obsidian roses
The fireballs launched by Fire Imps inflict 30 damage in Classic and 60 in Expert, often igniting explorers near open lava pools. Slaying them yields the Obsidian Rose at a 5% rate, which permanently reduces molten lava damage when worn, as well as the rare novelty Plumber's Hat at a 0.4% rate.
Trivia
- Fire Imps emit distinct magical hums immediately before teleporting to a new location.
- Their fireball projectiles can pass directly through solid ash and obsidian bricks.
