Ash Wood Breastplate

Underworld timber construction and molten shielding

Constructed at a Work Bench using 30 Ash Wood blocks, the Ash Wood Breastplate provides 3 defense to the torso slot. Combining this heavy wooden chestpiece with an Ash Wood Helmet and Ash Wood Greaves activates a set bonus that reduces incoming lava damage by 50% and reduces the On Fire! debuff caused by lava by 3.5 seconds.

Timber defense superiority and hell layer exploration

Offering 3 base defense on its own, the Ash Wood Breastplate matches the protection of Iron Chainmail despite being constructed purely from chopped trees. Daring explorers who navigate to the Underworld early can fell Ash Trees on Ash Blocks to obtain high pre-boss defense without smelting metal bars. Its lava reduction properties provide an extra safety net around fiery brimstone hazards.

Trivia
