Assembled at a Work Bench using 2 Lens drops, Goggles supply 1 defense for the head slot. Lenses are gathered by defeating floating Demon Eye enemies that roam the surface at night. Because this headgear requires zero metal ore and no furnace or anvil, it offers an accessible defensive head covering during early nocturnal survival sessions before any underground mining begins.

Vanity styling and alternative early equipment

Beyond serving as functional beginner armor, Goggles can be placed in the social vanity head slot to give characters a retro aviator aesthetic. They match the individual defense of a Copper Helmet or Wood Helmet without consuming valuable crafting lumber or copper bars. Later in progression, players typically replace them with armor sets that provide dedicated set bonuses while preserving the look in cosmetic slots.
