Because it drops from standard Hornets, explorers can acquire it during Pre-Hardmode, drastically easing exploration throughout treacherous underground hives and vine-choked caverns filled with poisonous stingers and venomous traps.

Medicated bandage synthesis and ankh shield branch

Poison inflicts steady damage over time while halting natural health regeneration, making this trinket useful when challenging Queen Bee or farming Jungle materials like stingers and spores. At a Tinkerer's Workshop, combining it with an Adhesive Bandage produces the Medicated Bandage, which feeds directly into the Ankh Charm and Ankh Shield. Its early availability provides enduring value throughout the entire adventure across underground ruins. Reforging to Warding or Menacing provides solid combat value.
