Camouflaged stingers across underground jungle foliage

The Moss Hornet replaces normal hornets in the Underground Jungle once Hardmode begins. Clothed in thick moss with 220 health and 22 armor, it hovers silently above murky waters and mud shelves. It inflicts 70 contact damage, or 140 in Expert and 210 in Master. From a distance, it fires high-velocity stingers that poison targets, chipping away at player survivability amidst thick jungle hazards.

Harvesting tattered wings and venom remedies

Due to erratic flight patterns, Moss Hornets are best tackled with homing magic or piercing ranged fire before they swarm. They drop Stingers at a 16.7% rate for ammo and potion crafting. They also yield the Bezoar at 1% to grant poison immunity, and the rare Tattered Bee Wing at 1%, an ingredient needed to forge decorative Bee Wings at a Mythril Anvil.

Trivia

  • Moss Hornets share their AI with standard hornets but boast significantly boosted life and projectile speed.
