Boreal Wood Breastplate

Tundra lumber tailoring and foundational chest protection

Assembled at a basic Work Bench from 30 Boreal Wood logs, the Boreal Wood Breastplate supplies 1 defense to the upper torso. Combining this coat with a Boreal Wood Helmet and Boreal Wood Greaves brings the wearer to 3 base defense, while triggering a set bonus that adds +1 defense for an aggregate of 4 defense.

Cold biome accessibility and early survival alternatives

In terms of defensive metrics, this tunic performs on par with a standard Wood Breastplate or Palm Wood Breastplate. Felling pine trees in the surface Snow biome provides a plentiful supply of logs without having to dodge cavern bats or corruption horrors. While Ebonwood Breastplate provides more raw armor, harvesting Boreal Wood carries significantly less danger during the initial daylight cycle.

Trivia

• Boreal wood trees drop acorns that can be replanted on snow blocks to cultivate winter forests.
• The entire boreal suit provides 4 total defense after accounting for the set bonus.
