Wood Breastplate

Assembling standard forest timber for early torso shielding

Constructed at a Work Bench from 30 regular Wood logs, the Wood Breastplate provides 1 defense for the chest slot. Equipping this simple tunic with a Wood Helmet and Wood Greaves creates a base total of 2 defense, while triggering a set bonus that awards +1 defense to achieve an overall 3 defense. Manufacturing the full three-piece suit requires 75 wood logs in total.

Progression trade-offs against cactus and ore alternatives

This piece represents the most accessible body armor in the game, needing only surface forest trees cut down with a starting axe. However, it offers only 1 defense, lagging behind the 2 defense provided by Ebonwood Breastplate and Shadewood Breastplate. Explorers heading into the desert can easily upgrade to Cactus Breastplate for superior defense and offensive thorns, while miners can transition toward copper or iron mail.

Trivia

• Demands 30 ordinary wood blocks to manufacture at an introductory workbench.
• Provides only 1 defense, half the protective output of evil biome wooden breastplates.
