Crafted at a Tinkerer's Workshop by joining a Megaphone with a Nazar, the Countercurse Mantra provides protection against spellcraft disruption and physical item sealing. It grants immunity to both the Silenced debuff, which prevents casting magic spells, and the Cursed debuff, which disables weapon swinging and tool usage. The Megaphone drops from Pixies and Blood Mummies, while the Nazar is obtained from Cursed Skulls and enchanted blades in the cavern layer.
Mage survivability and Ankh Charm progression
This protective talisman is valuable for spellcasters venturing into the post-Plantera Dungeon, where Giant Cursed Skulls project silence through solid dungeon walls. It unites with four other dual-immunity accessories at a Tinkerer's Workshop to construct the Ankh Charm and ultimately the Ankh Shield. Reforging to Warding adds 4 defense for close-quarters safety, while Arcane provides 20 extra maximum mana for spellcasting classes.
Trivia
Tossing a Nazar into Shimmer converts it into a Megaphone, making crafting easier in single-evil worlds.
It blocks the Cursed debuff inflicted by floating weapon monsters such as Enchanted Swords and Cursed Hammers.
