The handgun rapidly discharges darts at Fast velocity with a 22 use time, dealing 28 base ranged damage and 3.5 knockback with 4% critical chance. It chambers diverse dart types, including Ichor Dart, Cursed Dart, and Crystal Dart.

Ammunition synergy and comparison with the Dart Rifle

Compared to its Corrupt counterpart, the Dart Rifle, the Dart Pistol fires significantly faster at the cost of lower per-shot damage. This high rate of fire synergizes with Ichor Darts, which fragment into multiple secondary needles that inflict the defense-reducing Ichor debuff. It rivals the Megashark in early Hardmode boss fights like The Destroyer, providing mobile rangers with flexible ballistic crowd control and boss-killing capability.
