Flesh Knuckles

Crimson Mimic reward and aggro attraction

Dropped by the Crimson Mimic in Hardmode with a 20% drop rate. It can also be acquired by tossing Putrid Scent into Shimmer. Equipping Flesh Knuckles provides a substantial +8 defense bonus while raising player aggro rating by 400, drawing hostile monster aggression toward the character during dangerous combat encounters, anchoring enemy attention away from friends.

Shimmer transmutations and tank crafting paths

Flesh Knuckles represent an essential defensive accessory in early Hardmode, providing the Crimson counterpart to the stealth-oriented Putrid Scent. They serve as a foundational crafting ingredient for both Berserker's Glove and Hero Shield. Solo survivalists and multiplayer tanks benefit greatly from the flat defense boost against early mechanical bosses like The Destroyer. Reforging to Warding pushes total defense to 12 from this single accessory, significantly improving damage mitigation against hard-hitting foes in Expert or Master mode without requiring high-tier bars.

Trivia

• Submerging Flesh Knuckles in Shimmer converts them into Putrid Scent, granting Corruption gear access in Crimson worlds.
• Flesh Knuckles provide the second-highest standalone defense of any accessory behind the Paladin's Shield.
