Wearing the mask alongside Hallowed Plate Mail and Hallowed Greaves reaches 50 total defense and activates Holy Protection. Hitting an adversary with a sword, spear, or yoyo triggers an invulnerability shadow dodge buff that negates the next hit taken, resetting with a 30-second cooldown. This dodge mechanism enables aggressive counterattacks during dangerous phases against Skeletron Prime and Plantera, providing breathing room without sacrificing raw offensive pressure.
