Hardy Saddle

Crate fishing in desert oasis and ocean biomes

The Hardy Saddle is obtained by opening Oasis Crates and Mirage Crates hauled from desert oasis waters, or Ocean Crates and Seaside Crates fished from the ocean. Gathering these crates using high fishing power rods and Crate Potions gives players an avenue to secure the saddle without fighting bosses. Placing it into the mount equipment slot summons a giant Sea Turtle mount capable of carrying the player over land and through water.

Liquid swimming speed and infinite breath

On dry land, the turtle moves sluggishly at a slow walking pace of roughly ten miles per hour. However, plunging into liquids transforms its handling: the turtle swims through water, honey, and lava at thirty-one miles per hour. Crucially, mounting the turtle grants infinite underwater breath, preventing the player from drowning while exploring sunken ocean trenches or flooded cavern caves. This makes it a valuable utility mount for underwater salvage and mining submerged ores before crafting diving helmets or Neptune's Shell.

Trivia

• The Sea Turtle mount prevents all breath loss, functioning as an early underwater breathing apparatus.
• Its swimming acceleration and handling remain high across water, honey, and lava pools alike.
