Queen Bee hive conquest and royal honey drops
Honeyed Goggles are dropped by Queen Bee with a one in twenty chance in Classic mode, or obtained from her Treasure Bag in Expert mode. Queen Bee is awakened by breaking a Larva found inside Underground Jungle bee hives or by crafting an Abeemination. Defeating the monarch provides a chance to claim these amber goggles, which summon a Friendly Bee mount for early aerial exploration.
Sustained Pre-Hardmode hovering and honey swimming
The Friendly Bee mount provides sustained flight with hovering capability long before wings become accessible in Hardmode. While its ground walking speed is slow, its airborne flight enables safe navigation over underworld lava fields and deep cavern chasms without taking fall damage. In addition, the bee glides through liquid honey without suffering the usual movement slowdown, allowing quick maneuvering inside hive chambers. Its flight endurance offers early vertical mobility for constructing sky bridges and fighting the Wall of Flesh.
Trivia
- The Friendly Bee mount was one of the earliest flying mounts introduced to the game, added in the 1.2.4 update.
- Its flight fatigue timer resets upon touching any solid surface or landing on liquid honey pools.
