Potion cooldown reduction and Cavern Mimics
Dropped by Mimic monsters in the Cavern layer with a 16.67% probability, the Philosopher's Stone reduces the duration of Potion Sickness from 60 seconds down to 45 seconds. This 25% cooldown reduction allows players to consume healing potions more frequently during demanding encounters. At the Tinkerer's Workshop, it combines with a Band of Regeneration to create the Charm of Myths, or crafts into the Catalyst Band.
Boss survivability and accessory swapping tactics
The fifteen-second reduction in healing downtime often decides survival during intense mechanical boss battles and Moon events. Many seasoned players carry the stone in their inventory, swapping it into an active accessory slot just before drinking a potion, and immediately swapping back to offensive gear. When kept equipped permanently, upgrading into Charm of Myths adds continuous health regeneration. Warding is the preferred reforge, supplying +4 defense during perilous boss phases.
Trivia
- The cooldown reduction takes effect the instant a healing potion is consumed; unequipping the stone afterwards does not revert the timer.
- Its name and concept derive from historical alchemy traditions surrounding eternal life and transmutation.
