Piranha Gun

Jungle chest unlocking and latching bite mechanics

The Piranha Gun is located inside the Dungeon's Jungle Chest, opened with a Jungle Key after defeating Plantera. Firing the weapon releases up to three mechanical piranhas that travel rapidly and latch onto an enemy upon impact. While attached, the piranhas chew relentlessly into the victim, dealing repeated contact damage without consuming any additional ammunition as long as the player continues holding down the attack button.

Ammunition efficiency and agile target suppression

Each bite inflicts 40 base ranged damage, providing sustained pressure on single targets. If the targeted creature perishes while the trigger remains depressed, the mechanical piranhas immediately break off and fly toward the nearest hostile monster in visual range. Unreal provides the premier modifier bonus. Because it maintains constant DPS while the ranger focuses on dodging, it excels against mobile threats and multi-part bosses like Golem.

• The player can run, jump, and grapple across large arenas without disconnecting the clamped piranhas.
• Only a single initial bullet or rocket is required from inventory to initiate an endless latching cycle.
