Multi-lash ghostly whip strikes and prophetic visions

Possession is a summoner whip dropped by the Moon Lord introduced in Terraria 1.4.5. When swung, it discharges three overlapping spectral whip lashes that sweep outward toward the cursor. The whip hits for 110 base summon damage and 4 knockback, applying 25 summon tag damage and 10% summon tag critical strike chance. Struck enemies are afflicted with prophetic energy; when player minions attack a tagged target, spectral visions materialize to strike the victim for bonus damage.

Moon Lord summoner drops and tag synergy

Unlike earlier whips that suffer heavy damage penalties when slicing through multiple targets, Possession reduces damage by only 5% per consecutive enemy hit in a single swing. This mild drop-off preserves its damage against crowded invasion hordes. When compared to the pillar whip Constellation or Kaleidoscope, Possession provides a higher base tag damage increase and wider lash coverage. Reforging to the Legendary prefix provides optimal increases to whip reach, swing speed, and damage scaling.
