Meowmere drops directly from the Moon Lord upon defeat. When swung, the broadsword projects trailing feline projectiles accompanied by a distinctive meow sound effect. Each cat projectile ricochets off solid blocks up to four times, piercing multiple enemies along its flight path before detonating in a small explosion upon the fifth impact or when its lifetime expires. With 200 base melee damage, 6.5 knockback, and 14 use time, it delivers rapid damage across enclosed cavern arenas and flat surface battlegrounds.

Zenith sword synthesis and legendary modifiers

Prior to crafting endgame fusion gear, Meowmere holds the distinction of having the highest base damage of any melee sword in the game. It pairs alongside Star Wrath as one of the two post-Moon Lord blades required at a Mythril Anvil to forge Zenith. For general combat, the Legendary prefix grants the optimal distribution of size, velocity, and damage scaling. While Star Wrath excels against targets under open skies, Meowmere functions far better indoors where enclosed geometry causes its cat projectiles to rebound repeatedly into stationary foes.
