Illuminating subterranean tunnels with reinforced headwear
Created by augmenting a pre-Hardmode Mining Helmet with bars of Adamantite Bar or Titanium Bar at an anvil station, this helmet supplies 10 defense. It projects a continuous radiant glow around the explorer, eliminating the necessity of placing torches while traversing pitch-black caverns in search of valuable hardmode minerals and soul drops across deep biomes.
Mining speed synergy and subterranean survival
Completing the ensemble with Prospector Shirt and Prospector Pants triggers the classic Mining set bonus, granting a quickened pickaxe swing cadence. Combined with the speed bonuses on the shirt and pants, the full suit accelerates excavation by 30%. Unlike the frail original mining gear, this Hardmode upgrade provides 33 total defense to survive heavy underground blows from cavern monsters and giant tortoises during excavation.
Trivia
- The helmet light shines continuously even when submerged underwater in flooded tunnels.
- This helmet can be combined with standard mining clothes while retaining the full mining set bonus.
