Whip tag duration and knockback defense
Crafted at a Tinkerer's Workshop by combining a Silver Bracer with an Obsidian Shield. Equipping this heavy buckler provides 2 defense along with immunity to knockback and burning damage from hazardous fiery blocks like Meteorite and Hellstone. In addition, it raises the maximum cap of concurrent summon tag effects on struck targets by 1 and greatly prolongs the active duration of all summon tags applied through whips. This durability allows summoners to maintain close-range whip positioning against fiery Underworld enemies without flinching from hits.
Summoner whip rotations and defensive gearing
The Silver Shield is a premier defensive accessory tailored specifically for whip-stacking summoners in late pre-Hardmode and Hardmode. Unlike the standard Obsidian Shield or Ankh Shield, this ornament enables summoners to rotate through multiple whips without losing active tag bonuses on agile bosses. Warding provides 4 additional defense to reinforce frail minion armor sets, while Violent raises melee attack speed to swing whips faster during boss encounters.
Trivia
