Arachnid carapace and minion capacity expansion
Crafted at an Iron Anvil or Lead Anvil using 16 Spider Fang items, the Spider Breastplate provides 8 defense. It increases maximum minion capacity by 1 and enhances summon damage by 5%. Sourced from dangerous Black Recluse spiders in underground spider nests, this chestpiece provides summoners an immediate hardmode armor upgrade without requiring hardmode ore mining or smelter upgrades.
Summoner swarm synergy and early progression
Wearing this piece with Spider Mask and Spider Greaves delivers 20 total defense and activates a set bonus boosting minion damage by an extra 12%. Across the entire set, summoners gain 3 extra minion slots and 28% total summon damage. This noticeable increase in minion army size enables summoners to command large swarms of spiders or imps, tearing through early hardmode bosses while the summoner focuses on evasive maneuvering.
