Plundering the pirate flagship
The Dutchman is a pirate-themed minecart dropped by the Flying Dutchman mini-boss during a Hardmode Pirate Invasion. Defeating the airborne vessel yields a 5% chance to secure this naval carriage. It equips into the minecart loadout slot to navigate railway tracks, replacing the default wooden cart without taking up main backpack slots or accessory capacity, rewarding swashbuckling players with unique maritime transit.
Navigating rails in spectral timber
Styled after a miniature pirate galleon complete with dark rigging and miniature brass cannons, this cart glides smoothly across iron rails. It provides dependable travel across cross-world transit corridors, matching pirate vanity outfits and nautical themes. Players mount it automatically when clicking nearby tracks or using quick-mount hotkeys, enjoying distinct swashbuckling aesthetics during railway journeys through skyways and subways. The miniature ship hull handles track jumps and booster rails smoothly, bringing classic pirate invasion flair to transit networks.
Trivia
- Unlike the Master Mode mount item The Black Spot, The Dutchman functions exclusively on minecart rails.
- It shares its nautical ship styling with pirate invasion furniture looted from defeated raiders.
