Blood Moon harvest and amphibious leaping assaults
Obtained by reeling in and defeating the Wandering Eye Fish or Zombie Merman during a Blood Moon, the Vampire Frog Staff calls forth an aggressive amphibious familiar. The summoned vampire frog deals 11 base summon damage and 5 knockback at a Very slow summoning pace, lunging forcefully toward hostile ground targets with bounding hops and tongue whips.
Whip tag cohesion and ruthless minion tuning
Unlike passive floating summons, Vampire Frogs deliver continuous physical contact damage as they roll and leap through target hitboxes. They synchronize brilliantly with Snapthorn, which adds flat tag damage to every roll and accelerates attack frequency. This synergy provides tremendous damage against ground-bound bosses like the Brain of Cthulhu and Eye of Cthulhu. Reforging to Ruthless is optimal, providing pure damage without wasting prefix budget on knockback.
Trivia
- Vampire Frogs leave trailing red fluid droplets behind them as they bound across platforms.
- Despite their aquatic theme, the summoned familiars operate with equal mobility on dry land.
