Steel-clad cavern sentries inflicting shattered armor
Armored Skeletons appear throughout the Cavern layer once Hardmode begins, clad in weathered plate mail with 260 life and 28 defense. Striking for 40 damage in Classic, 80 in Expert, and 120 in Master, their melee blows inflict the Broken Armor debuff. This debuff cuts player defense in half, making any follow-up attack from surrounding cavern foes perilously lethal.
Acquiring armor polish and ancient projectile blades
Due to their heavy armor and moderate knockback resistance, Armored Skeletons should be handled with ranged weapons or high-knockback melee arms before they reach melee range. They drop Armor Polish at a 1% rate, an ingredient required for crafting the Ankh Charm. They also carry a 0.67% chance to yield the Beam Sword, which fires glowing sword beams.
Trivia
- The Broken Armor debuff inflicted by Armored Skeletons lasts for several seconds and can be nullified with Armor Polish.
