Electric aquatic predators of deep caverns
The Green Jellyfish is a translucent aquatic creature found swimming through water pools in the Cavern layer during Hardmode. Carrying 120 life and 30 defense, it glides gracefully through flooded chambers, delivering 80 contact damage in Classic, 160 in Expert, and 240 in Master. Periodically, its gelatinous bell illuminates with crackling electric sparks.
Avoiding shock currents and jellyfish necklaces
While crackling with electricity, striking the Green Jellyfish with melee weapons inflicts a shock current that damages and briefly stuns the attacker. Players should switch to ranged weapons like bows or guns while it is charged. Slaying Green Jellyfish yields Glowsticks at 100% (quantity 1–4), the Jellyfish Necklace at 1% for underwater light, and the Megaphone at 1%.
Trivia
- Striking it with a melee weapon while its electric shock aura is active shocks the attacking player.
- Its body radiates bright green luminescence underwater, revealing cavern pools in pitch darkness.
