The Chaos Elemental is a crystalline humanoid creature that inhabits the Underground Hallow during Hardmode. Carrying 370 life and 30 defense, it teleports around subterranean caverns, materializing beside players to strike with 40 contact damage in Classic, scaling to 80 in Expert and 120 in Master. Its ability to blink through solid blocks makes conventional cavern fortifications ineffective against its ambushes.
Farming the legendary rod of discord
The Chaos Elemental is among the most sought-after farm targets in all of Terraria due to its rare drop: the Rod of Discord at 0.2%. This tool permits unrestricted player teleportation to the cursor's location, revolutionizing boss fights and exploration. To farm them efficiently, players build cavern conveyor belt traps, remembering that Chaos Elementals only spawn when the player is actively moving, swinging, or standing off player-placed background walls.
