Drops
Giant Fungi Bulb drops nothing in the game's drop rules.
Stationary spore artillery in luminous mushroom grottos
Rooted firmly into glowing mushroom turf during Hardmode, the Giant Fungi Bulb acts as an organic turret across both surface and underground fungal biomes. Anchored to ceilings or floors with 300 life and 20 defense, it cannot move from its perch, instead tracking players by launching dense volleys of glowing mushroom spores. These fungal projectiles strike for 70 damage, penetrating through narrow cavern pathways.
Overcoming fungal bombardments behind cavern cover
Approaching a Giant Fungi Bulb head-on is risky due to its rapid firing cadence and high contact lethality. Miners should utilize terrain corners, solid blocks, or long-range weapons like repeater bows and magic guns to pick off the bulb from outside its firing arc. In Master mode, its health increases to 900 while its strikes inflict 210 damage, punishing anyone who lingers in open fungal chambers without solid cover.
Trivia
- Giant Fungi Bulbs remain fixed to their spawn block, functioning similarly to Snatchers with ranged capabilities.
- They inhabit both natural underground mushroom caverns and player-created surface mushroom biomes in Hardmode.
