Drops
Spore Zombie drops nothing in the game's drop rules.
Lurking beneath glowing mushroom canopies
Spore Zombies roam the underground Glowing Mushroom biome, distinguished by large blue mushroom caps sprouting directly from their decomposing craniums. Unlike frail undead ambling across the surface forest, these fungal monstrosities possess far greater vitality: 180 health in Classic, surging to 360 in Expert and 540 in Master. They also hit significantly harder, dealing 40 contact damage in Classic, making early excursions into subterranean mushroom groves perilous for miners with basic armor.
Combating enhanced cavern undead in fungal fields
As they wander through dark caverns, Spore Zombies emit a faint bioluminescent glow, revealing their approach before they emerge into torchlight. Because they follow traditional fighter pathfinding, mining out shallow pits or placing horizontal platform barricades easily blocks their advance. Long-reaching yoyos, piercing spells, and ranged weapons keep them held at bay, allowing spelunkers to harvest glowing mushrooms and mushroom grass seeds without suffering heavy melee strikes.
Trivia
- Spore Zombies emit a soft blue bioluminescence that casts light in unlit cavern tunnels.
- The mushroom cap growing from their head remains visible even when the zombie is submerged in water.
