Tile-phasing spectres gliding through eclipse fortifications
The Reaper is a spectral entity that manifests during the Hardmode Solar Eclipse once all three mechanical bosses have fallen. Possessing 700 life and 22 defense, it glides silently through solid blocks, dealing 80 contact damage (160 in Expert and 240 in Master). Because it passes freely through walls and terrain, players cannot hide safely within enclosed bases.
Conquering ghostly scythe wielders for the death sickle
Engaging Reapers demands continuous mobility or weapons with heavy knockback and piercing projectiles, such as the Terra Blade or Megashark, to push them back as they phase out of walls. Defeating a Reaper yields the Requiem painting at 1.67% and offers a 2.5% chance for the Death Sickle, which fires spinning scythes that pierce tiles.
Trivia
- Reapers share tile-phasing movement mechanics with Wraiths, allowing them to traverse solid stone structures.
