The Wyvern is a massive serpentine dragon that rules the Space and Sky layers in Hardmode. Its looping aerial charges make building skybridges or fighting on Floating Islands treacherous.
Farming souls of flight for early hardmode wings
Defeating a Wyvern requires open airspace and piercing weapons such as repeaters with unholy arrows, shotguns, or magic beams that hit multiple body segments as it passes through the player. Defeating a Wyvern guarantees Souls of Flight at a 100% rate in bundles of 5–10, essential for crafting all basic wings, alongside the Wyvern Kite at 4%.
