Airborne bile spittle across Hardmode corruption chasms

The Corruptor is a massive aerial predator that patrols corrupted skies and chasms once Hardmode begins. Larger and tougher than standard chasm scavengers, it tracks players from above and discharges rapid globs of Vile Spit. While this vile bile no longer spreads corrupt grass to clean tiles upon landing, direct impacts deal severe projectile damage and inflict the Weak debuff, sapping the player of movement speed and physical defense.

Hunting Vitamins and Meat Grinders from flying abominations

With substantial durability and 32 defense, taking down Corruptors demands dependable anti-air weaponry such as chlorophyte arrows or high-velocity guns. Farming them is an essential stepping stone toward forging the Ankh Charm, as each fallen monstrosity offers a 1% chance to yield Vitamins, granting immunity to the Weak affliction. Additionally, players can harvest Rotten Chunks (33.3%) and the rare Meat Grinder (0.5%) furniture station.

Trivia

  • In older legacy versions of Terraria, the Corruptor's spit spread corrupt blocks, but this mechanic was permanently removed.
  • Its physical design closely resembles an overgrown, four-eyed evolution of the Eater of Souls.
