Haunted corruption warhammers
The Cursed Hammer is a supernatural weapon enemy that haunts the Underground Corruption in Hardmode. Protected by 200 health and 18 defense, it phases smoothly through cavern walls to strike players with 80 contact damage in Classic, scaling to 160 in Expert and 240 in Master. A single blow from this cursed mallet inflicts the debilitating Cursed debuff, rendering the player incapable of swinging weapons or drinking potions.
Knockback timing and warding drops
When tracking its quarry, the Cursed Hammer floats near the player, spins in a rapid charging animation, and lunges forward at high speed. Using high-knockback melee broadswords or rapid-firing magic weapons interrupts its charge cycle before the head connects. Slaying this floating hammer has a 1% chance to yield the Nazar, an essential component of the Ankh Shield that immunizes against the Cursed status.
Trivia
- It is the Corruption equivalent of the Crimson Axe, sharing the same flying weapon attack patterns.
- Striking it while it winds up its spinning charge cancels its forward momentum.
