Subterranean gelatinous wanderers
Yellow Slimes populate the dark caverns beneath the surface world, serving as a sturdier relative of standard green and blue varieties. Equipped with 45 health and 7 defense, they absorb considerably more weapon punishment while navigating stone ledges and subterranean water pools. In Expert and Master modes, their durability rises to 90 and 135 health, forcing miners to space out their strikes to prevent being pushed backward into dark shafts.
Harvesting cavern gel and rare summoner staves
Slaying Yellow Slimes yields Gel at a 100% rate, dropping in bunches of 2–5 to keep torches and flamethrower ammo stocked. Very fortunate explorers might also obtain the Slime Staff at an elusive 0.01% chance, granting an early summoner minion. They can occasionally generate with bonus copper coins, tin ore, or lead ore suspended inside their gelatinous bodies.
Trivia
- Yellow Slimes can float on water surfaces without sinking.
- They are one of the highest-tier common slime variants found before entering the Underworld.
