Djinn's Curse

Desert Spirit relic and slow-fall hovering

Dropped with a 1.33% chance by the Desert Spirit in corrupt or crimson underground desert biomes, the Djinn's Curse is unique leg armor. Instead of normal footwear, it transforms the player lower body into a swirling smoke tail. While equipped, it grants slow falling mechanics, allowing players to gently glide downward and eliminate fall damage hazards during cave exploration.

Descent control and vanity appeal

Holding the Down key while descending accelerates fall velocity back to normal speed, giving fine control over aerial movement. Because it provides 0 defense, equipping the Djinn's Curse sacrifices armor protection compared to metallic hardmode greaves. Consequently, players often use it for early aerial gliding prior to obtaining wings, or place it in a vanity slot to display the ethereal smoky apparition.
