They share standard developer flight capabilities, delivering 162 ft of peak flight height, 2.5 seconds of sustained thrust, and a maximum horizontal air speed of 36 mph while negating fall damage. Any Hardmode boss cache can yield the set, offering a potent mobility upgrade early in Hardmode.

Evasive aerial repositioning and chitinous flutter

With reliable mid-Hardmode flight time, these wings assist players in evading ground charges from The Destroyer or navigating hazardous jungle depths. Combining them with Amphibian Boots increases initial ascent speed, launching the player swiftly away from incoming projectiles. During protracted fights against Duke Fishron, the swift gliding speed helps dodge charging tackles. Visually, the wings mimic the dual chitinous wings of a scarab beetle, fluttering at high frequency and producing translucent green and golden hues under natural light.
