Arcane warding and damage-fueled mana restoration
Crafted at a Tinkerer's Workshop by combining a Band of Starpower with a Shackle. Equipping the cuffs grants 2 defense, expands maximum mana by 40, and restores mana equal to the amount of health lost whenever the wearer receives damage from enemies or hazards. This provides immediate mana recovery during chaotic battles against aggressive monsters in underground caverns. This mana refund mechanic ensures mages maintain offensive spell pressure even when struck by monsters.
Mana flower alternative and celestial progression
Magic Cuffs is a premier resource accessory for mages who wish to avoid the damage reduction penalty of Mana Sickness caused by drinking mana potions. By converting incoming enemy damage directly into fresh mana, players can sustain spellcasting throughout prolonged skirmishes. It later combines with a Celestial Magnet to form Celestial Cuffs, pulling mana stars from across the screen. Reforging to Warding reinforces defense, while Arcane further expands mana reserves for boss arenas.
Trivia
- In update 1.4.4, the maximum mana capacity bonus provided by Magic Cuffs was raised from 20 to 40.
- Mana restored by taking damage ignores the damage-reducing Mana Sickness debuff entirely.
