 Magma Snail Cage | 1 × Terrarium, 1 × Magma Snail | By hand |
Underworld crawling and specialized capture
This molten gastropod crawls across ash blocks and obsidian towers throughout the Underworld layer. Standard nets cannot capture it; attempting to swing an ordinary net inflicts burning damage upon the player without collecting the creature. Anglers must forge a Lavaproof Bug Net or obtain a Golden Bug Net to snare it safely. Combining one with a Terrarium creates a Magma Snail Cage.
Molten liquid angling capabilities
With 35% bait power, this creature acts as specialized bait capable of dipping into pools of magma. Standard bait incinerates upon touching lava, but this snail enables any standard fishing pole to reel in obsidian crates and lava fish. Its bait rating exceeds the Hell Butterfly by 4% while matching the Lavafly. Excess catches sell for 50 silver at any shopkeeper.
Trivia
- Using an ordinary Bug Net on Underworld critters sets the player ablaze instead of snaring them.
- Underworld bait creatures allow fishing in lava pools even with standard wooden poles.
