Purchased from the Wizard for 10 gold during Hardmode after rescuing him from deep underground caverns. While equipped in an active accessory slot or held in vanity, the blank Music Box has a random chance each second to capture the environmental soundtrack currently playing. Once recording completes, the box permanently transforms into a specific named music box corresponding to that music track, complete with unique artwork. Equipping the box during intense boss encounters allows players to capture dramatic orchestral tracks, turning difficult battles into memorable soundtrack souvenirs.

Acoustic furniture placement and title theme crafting

Recorded music boxes can be placed as furniture tiles in houses or boss arenas to play their captured tunes, and they support wire connections for mechanical toggling. Wearing a recorded box in an accessory slot overrides default background audio with that track across all biomes. Combining multiple recorded boxes at a workshop produces composite boxes like the Title theme, rewarding soundtrack collectors.

• Blank music boxes cannot record music while unequipped in ordinary inventory slots.
