Voracious river predators in flooded jungle pools
Inhabiting murky waterways throughout the Hardmode Jungle and Underground Jungle, the Arapaima is a fierce aquatic hunter. With 200 health and 30 defense, it swims at blistering speeds to intercept any swimming player, delivering 75 contact damage in Classic, 150 in Expert, and 225 in Master mode upon biting.
Constructing artificial ocean farms with aggressive fish schools
The Arapaima possesses extreme aggression, actively leaping toward players standing above water pools if they enter line of sight. Because of this persistent aggression, players frequently build automated ocean and jungle mob grinders using Arapaimas to rapidly collect biome keys and pirate maps. Keeping outside water pools protects players from their ferocious charges.

- Arapaimas are based on the real-world South American river monster of the same name.
