Disorienting mind-control beams in the saucer invasion
The Brain Scrambler is an alien psychic infantry unit encountered during the Martian Madness event. Distinguished by his massive, pulsating brain dome, this extraterrestrial marksman targets defenders from mid-range with crackling scrambler rays. Players struck by his mental beam suffer the Confused debuff, which inverts horizontal directional inputs. Under the intense pressure of saucer bombardment, inverted movement controls can cause defenders to stumble directly into lethal death rays.
Countering inverted controls and clearing psychic invaders
Preventing the disorientation caused by Brain Scramblers requires defensive accessories like the Ankh Shield or rapid preemptive firepower. Fortunately, Brain Scramblers have modest base armor with 25 defense and are susceptible to weapon knockback, making rapid-fire bows and sweeping flails effective at keeping them suppressed. Defeating them yields Martian Conduit Plating (12.5%) and provides rare opportunities to collect advanced tech like the Charged Blaster Cannon (0.13%).
Trivia
- The Brain Scrambler enemy does not drop the Brain Scrambler mount item, which drops from the Scutlix Gunner instead.
- Wearing an Ankh Shield completely nullifies the Confused debuff inflicted by his psychic ray.
