Corrupt Goldfish drops nothing in the game's drop rules.
Blighted aquatic mutants during blood moon tides
When a Blood Moon rises over the world or when pure goldfish contact corrupted waters, they mutate into the aggressive Corrupt Goldfish. Possessing 100 health and 6 defense, this vicious fish flops aggressively on land or swims in waters, biting for 30 contact damage in Classic, 60 in Expert, and 90 in Master mode.
Clearing flopping mutants from flooded homesteads
During a Blood Moon, ordinary peaceful goldfish transform into Corrupt Goldfish and actively assault nearby players and NPCs. While their health and damage are low compared to Hardmode beasts, their numbers can quickly overwhelm early-game survivors. Striking them with swinging broadswords or yo-yos dispatches them easily. Purifying them with Vile Powder returns them to regular goldfish.
Trivia
- Catching a Corrupt Goldfish with a Bug Net allows players to place it in an aquarium as a vanity pet.
- Using Purification Powder on a Corrupt Goldfish transforms it back into a standard Goldfish.
