Corrupt Slime in Terraria

Enemy Banner: Corrupt Slime Banner

Steeped in the power of Corruption, these slimes can survive being cut apart into smaller pieces, unlike their untainted brethren.

Caustic purple gelatin of the corruption

The Corrupt Slime is a toxic purple gelatin monster that roams the surface Corruption and subterranean chasms in Hardmode. Endowed with 170 life and 20 defense, it bounces aggressively across purple grass, dealing 55 contact damage in Classic, 110 in Expert, and 165 in Master. Its resilient outer coating and heavy bounding arcs make it far more dangerous than common green or blue slimes.

Splitting into slimelings and blindfold drops

The true danger of the Corrupt Slime occurs upon its destruction: slaying its primary form causes it to rupture into three aggressive Slimelings that continue the assault. Players must be ready with wide-cleaving melee swings or piercing spells to mop up the miniature spawn. Slaying Corrupt Slimes yields Gel at 100% (quantity 2–4), the Meat Grinder (0.5%), and the Blindfold accessory at 1%.

Trivia

  • Slaying a Corrupt Slime always spawns three Slimelings unless defeated while falling into lava.
  • Its Blindfold drop grants complete immunity to the Darkness debuff, contributing to the Ankh Shield.
