Mechanical death orbs of eclipse events
Deadly Spheres appear during the Solar Eclipse after defeating Plantera, hovering ominously like floating metallic orbs. Once locked onto a target, they extend razor-sharp blades from their outer chassis and propel themselves forward at blistering speeds. With 350 health and 80 defense, they can shrug off weak projectile volleys while closing distance.
Surviving lethal charges and securing summoner staffs
The high-velocity ramming attacks of Deadly Spheres inflict 100 contact damage in Classic and 200 in Expert, capable of rapidly depleting an explorer's life pool. Slaying them provides the Deadly Sphere Staff at a 3.33% rate, allowing summoners to conjure aggressive spherical minions that dart toward hostile targets.
Trivia
- Deadly Spheres switch between a passive floating state and an aggressive spiked ramming state.
- Their high defense makes armor-penetrating weapons especially effective against them.
