Drops

Dune Splicer drops nothing in the game's drop rules.

Gargantuan burrowing serpents of raging sandstorms

The Dune Splicer is a colossal worm predator that tunnels through the sands of the Hardmode Desert during active Sandstorms. Consisting of massive linked body segments with 500 health and 18 defense, it erupts from the dunes, delivering 58 contact damage in Classic, 116 in Expert, and 174 in Master mode.

Shredding multisection serpents with piercing ballistics

Due to its extraordinary length and rapid tunneling speed, facing a Dune Splicer on foot during blinding sandstorms can be catastrophic. Erecting high wooden platforms above the desert sands forces the worm into predictable vertical leaps. Firing piercing weapons like the Daedalus Stormbow or chlorophyte arrows pierces multiple segments at once, melting its health.

Trivia

  • Dune Splicers only spawn naturally during active Sandstorms in Hardmode Desert biomes.
  • They are significantly larger and more aggressive than pre-Hardmode Tomb Crawlers.
