Crimson sand sharks of the desert sandstorm

The Flesh Reaver is a ferocious aquatic predator that burrows through sand in the Crimson Desert during Hardmode Sandstorms. Carrying 400 health and 22 defense, it glides through sand dunes like water, lunging out of the ground to strike with 64 contact damage in Classic, scaling to 128 in Expert and 192 in Master. Its grotesque crimson fins churn sand clouds as it charges.

Aerial positioning and dark shard rewards

Facing a Flesh Reaver requires remaining airborne with wings or grappled to high platforms, denying the beast an easy target on the sand surface. Once it lunges into the air, concentrated fire knocks it out of its leap. Defeating Flesh Reavers yields Shark Fins at a 12.5% rate, Dark Shards at 4% for evil weapons, and tasty Nachos at 3.33%.

Trivia

  • It represents the Crimson variant of the Sand Shark family, sharing its behavior with the Bone Biter.
  • It only breaches sand surfaces when high-velocity wind storms active during a Sandstorm.
